Our Story
Kayed “Edward” Hassan came to this country when he was 15 years old and didn’t speak English. While going to high school by day, he worked nights in a factory with his father to raise enough money for the rest of the family to come to Chicago from Palestine. After a stint in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Edward owned a variety of businesses, eventually ending up with a convenience store that happened to come with the building, including a few storefronts and apartments.
By the time 2002 rolled around, Ramzi, then a junior at DePaul University, decided to move back home for his senior year. While taking night classes, he worked alongside his father to strategize and build the business. At that point, Edward and Ramzi diversified into development, re-development, property management, and investment real estate, while ensuring they were responsive to the communities they developed in.
